Quick Navigation
1. Terms of Service
By enrolling in any mechanical course or booking a custom bike fitting at Gemstone Gears, you're formally agreeing to our operational standards. Our curriculum is designed for educational purposes, focusing on advanced repair clinics and wheel building mastery. Are you ready to dive into the technicalities of cycling engineering?
We don't just teach tasks; we cultivate lifelong skills. Consequently, use of our facility's 50th Street tools is permitted only under certified supervision of our master mechanics. We reserve the right to modify course content to reflect the latest industry shifts in component technology.
2. Registration & Fees
Full payment is required upon registration to secure your workbench for our hands-on workshops. Our spots are limited to 8 participants per clinic to ensure high-quality instruction. Don't let a missing drivetrain course hold back your cycling career!
We provide all necessary shimano-standard tools and shop supplies. However, students attending component upgrade courses are expected to bring their own base frames as specified in the course syllabus.
3. Cancellation Policy
Life happens, we get it. If you need to reschedule your wheel-building course, please notify us at least 72 hours in advance. What happens if you miss that window? Cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop start time are subject to a 50% administration fee.
For custom bike fittings, we're a bit more strict. These require specialized equipment setup. No-shows or same-day cancellations will result in full forfeiture of the booking deposit.
4. Safety & Liability
Working with hydraulic brakes and tensioned spokes involves inherent risks. While Gemstone Gears prioritizes safety protocols, we're not liable for injuries occurring during the independent application of skills learned in our classes.
Safety gear is mandatory. Proper footwear—no open-toed shoes!—is non-negotiable in the repair bay. Our team reserves the right to remove any participant who ignores safety briefings for the protection of others.
